Don’t know where to start looking through an archive?

“It’s a bit like going on Netflix before cookies and AI… but more dusty… it’s a must-y see…”

As part of this year’s Heritage Open Days, join us for a special screening of illuminating short films by artists working in archives. Screened at the historic Town Hall, these captivating films explore, challenge, and rewrite history from new and old perspectives around the world.

Location: Town Hall, Marygate, Berwick upon Tweed, TD15 1BN

Date: Saturday 14 September

Time: 11:00 – 13.30

Film (60 mins), Workshop (30 mins)

The Burr of Berwick

First introduced at the 2024 Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival as a social space with a film library, conversations and screenings, The Burr is now a roving social space for film and discussions. Named after the local Northumbrian language and dialect ‘The Burr’, Berwick – everyone is welcome to come along!

In each event we’ll gather together to explore different topics relevant to Berwick and our local area. We invite you to watch films and explore and bring up topics that matter to you.

Aside from our year-round events, the annual Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival will be 27-30 March 2025
