The festival runs from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th March between 10 am and 10 pm. Various shifts will be available across the weekend and we work with each volunteer’s availability to assign shifts.

Anyone aged 18 and over is welcome to register for the role.

Applications from those based in and locally to Berwick are particularly welcomed, whether you have volunteered with us before, or if it is your first time at the Festival.

Members of the volunteer team are the face of the Festival undertake a range of roles, including:

• Exhibition invigilation
• Stewarding film screenings
• Welcoming visitors and providing information
• Supporting special events
• Helping to gather audience feedback

Volunteer tasks are organised to suit volunteers’ own interests as much as possible, making it a valuable opportunity and a chance to see and learn.

As well as becoming part of the BFMAF team, volunteers receive:

• A free Festival pass
• Merchandise
• A chance to see lots of films and artworks over the weekend
• Access to historic spaces around the town.

All our volunteers receive a high level of support from the BFMAF team and training will be provided.

Volunteers will be invited to attend a training day closer to the festival – dates are still to be confirmed.
