The Burr of Berwick

7 March, 12:00 – 17:00 • 8 – 10 March, 10:00 – 17:00
Free Entry

The Burr is a new social space, screening library and discussion series named after the local Northumbrian language. Every day of the festival we will come together to collectively explore different topics with film and with guests. Come along for a giff-gaff!

Free to drop in any time, the space will offer a chance to meet fellow festival goers, neighbours and guests. Come to relax, have a warm drink, chat and watch films from our library of radical and local community film and video, guaranteed to stir-up ideas!

The space will have individual TVs, and frequent ‘watch together’ interest-appropriate screenings in our relaxed cinema, followed by informal discussions. On entering, suggestions will be given by our friendly ushers.

After the Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival (7-10 March) hankering down on Marygate, The Burr of Berwick will continue through the year, using different spaces in Berwick, bringing together different generations to explore day to day life in north Northumberland.
